Technical Assistance Partnership for Anti-Violence Organizations

The Scattergood Foundation designed and implemented a two-year Technical Assistance Partnership to support organizations funded through the City of Philadelphia’s Anti-Violence Community Expansion Grants (CEG) program. Building on the values and cohort-based approach of the RISE Partnership, the initiative provided tailored capacity-building support to community organizations working to reduce gun violence and strengthen neighborhood safety across Philadelphia.

Beginning in 2021, the City invested $13.5 million in organizations with demonstrated success in violence prevention and community engagement. In partnership with the City, fiscal partners, and evaluation teams, Scattergood developed a learning and technical assistance model that supported grantees through professional development sessions, coalition-building convenings, peer learning opportunities, and individualized consultation. Across two years, the initiative helped organizations strengthen internal capacity, improve data collection and storytelling, navigate rapid organizational growth, and deepen collaboration with peers working toward safer and healthier communities.
