Jennifer has more than 30 years of experience in the philanthropic sector. As a leader in BDO’s Nonprofit and Grantmaker Advisory (NGA) specialty services group, she works with a wide range of philanthropic organizations in various stages of organizational development, helping them helping them to strengthen their finance, human resources, and administrative infrastructures to become more efficient and better fulfill their mission. Her work includes reviewing and establishing financial due diligence processes, developing and delivering cross functional training, coaching and infrastructure assessments and development. She also trainings nonprofit organizations on financial management and governance.
Prior to joining BDO she developed a proficiency in grants and financial management as a VP of Administration at Annenberg Foundation, a large family foundation with a national grantmaking portfolio, as well as HealthSpark Foundation, a private foundation in Philadelphia with a place-based focus. She began her career in audit at a Big Four firm.
Her broad-based background includes direct responsibilities in staff operations, finance, budget, grants management, information systems, human resources, and facilities. Jennifer has implemented grants management systems and developed workflow processes and documents for the entire grants cycle—including application, award, monitoring and learning.
She continuously monitors and stays active in the field and incorporates best practices into foundation operations, scaling them to meet the needs, culture, and environment of the organization.
Fun Fact: Jennifer enjoys spending time in nature and visiting her kids and grandkids on the west coast.
