In the just and compassionate spirit of Saint Joseph, the Welcome Center offers opportunities that enable immigrants and others to improve the quality of their lives through access to education, support services and programs leading to self-sufficiency.
Sisters of Saint Joseph Welcome Centerʼs Wellness Mission program received a grant to support a range of wellness programming with students which encouraged a supportive space for students to discuss challenges, identify needs, and strengthen coping skills. Programming included arts wellness classes, yoga and meditation, and general wellness courses.
The Sisters of Saint Joseph Welcome Center was funded to continue weekly English and citizenship classes, immigration legal assistance, and emergency support including food, clothing, utility assistance, and individualized guidance for immigrants and other Kensington residents.
