Resolve Philly was funded to continue Shake the Table, a reporting and community engagement initiative that centers residents’ experiences with Philadelphia’s operating departments, including 311, Streets, Licenses and Inspections, and Human Services. Through community partnerships, reporting, and storytelling, the initiative elevated challenges within city government during the 2023 election and pressed candidates to offer clear plans for addressing them. Resolve Philly will continue documenting public meetings and residents’ experiences with city services through 2026, helping communities track elected officials’ commitments and strengthen accountability throughout the mayor’s first term.

Building on the foundation of Equally Informed Philly, Shake the Table expanded Resolve Philly's work to strengthen civic participation and government accountability by centering residents' experiences with Philadelphia's public systems. Through community listening sessions, neighborhood newsrooms, solutions-focused reporting, civic education, and partnerships with local news organizations, the initiative amplified the voices of communities historically excluded from political decision-making and elevated their priorities during the 2023 municipal election.
The initiative also introduced new tools for public accountability, including community documentation of government meetings and residents' experiences navigating city services. By combining journalism, community engagement, and civic participation, Shake the Table helped residents shape public conversations about local government while creating lasting mechanisms for transparency and accountability beyond the election cycle.

The program also developed tools to promote transparency and accountability, helping community members track elected officials' commitments and advocacy related to behavioral health over time.
