NSC offers comprehensive services in language access, legal protections, community integration, employment and health and wellness. Nationalities Service Center was funded to continue free, culturally and linguistically responsive mental health care for refugees and immigrants facing trauma and other significant stressors. Funding will support therapy and interpretation for 50 clients, wraparound case management, support groups, psychoeducation, and training for providers and emerging bilingual professionals.
Nationalities Service Center (NSC) received support for its work providing integrated health, wellness, legal, youth, and trauma recovery services for immigrant communities across the Philadelphia region.
Nationalities Service Center was funded to offer a six-month paid training program that prepares immigrants with lived experience and language skills to serve as Wellness Liaisons within their communities. Participants will build behavioral health knowledge, connect community members with external providers, and collaborate with behavioral health professionals to strengthen culturally responsive care. The program will also develop a replicable Wellness Liaison model that can be adapted by other providers and communities.
