Klean Kensington aims to holistically empower local youth through stipended, meaningful work to restore, beautify, and build up the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia. They engage teenagers to clean blocks, remove illegal dumping, and transform blighted, vacant lots into green spaces and community gardens.
Klean Kensington was funded to pay teens to clean, garden, and beautify neighborhood spaces; compensate volunteer mentors; and provide workshops, after-school activities, and community partnerships that support young people’s growth, connection, and wellbeing.
Klean Kensington was funded to employ local teens to transform neighborhood areas affected by drugs, trash, and violence into gardens and welcoming gathering spaces for children, families, and neighbors.
