$240,000

For nearly two decades, the Emerging Scholars Fellowship supported the next generation of behavioral health researchers, scientists, and advocates by providing funding, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for young adults pursuing careers in mental health. In partnership with the Scattergood Foundation, the fellowship helped build a diverse behavioral health workforce while elevating youth leadership and innovation in the field.

Building on this longstanding partnership, the fellowship expanded its focus to support Black, Indigenous, and other scholars of color conducting research on health equity, anti-racism, and young adult mental health. Through stipends, mentoring, networking, and community-building, the program strengthened pathways into behavioral health careers and advanced a more diverse, culturally responsive mental health workforce.
