Dr. Noel B. Ramirez is a clinical social worker, public health professional, educator, and organizational leader with nearly 20 years of experience working at the intersection of identity, resilience, mental health, addiction, and community health.
He is the Founder and Executive Director of Mango Tree Counseling & Consulting, a multidisciplinary mental health group practice serving Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mango Tree specializes in culturally responsive psychotherapy for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, LGBTQ+ populations, trauma survivors, and individuals seeking support for addiction, relationships, and personal growth.
Dr. Ramirez serves as a Senior Graduate Lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work, where he teaches Decolonizing Social Work Practice and Psychopathology and Treatment. He is also a faculty member in The College of New Jersey's Graduate Counseling Program, teaching addictions counseling and behavioral health topics.
His professional experience spans Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), HIV care and prevention, methadone maintenance treatment, integrated behavioral health, and community-based public health initiatives. He previously served as a Project Director overseeing the expansion of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and buprenorphine services within primary care settings to improve access to addiction treatment in underserved communities.
Dr. Ramirez is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), with advanced specialization in compulsive sexual behavior, eating disorders, and financial disorders. He also serves on the Steering Committee for Recovery Programming at Easton Mountain and as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA), advancing recovery, mental health equity, and community wellness.
