Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.

St. Mark’s Church, Frankford on-site programming includes: shower and laundry services, social service referrals and coordination, nutritional support, clothing, art therapy, Recovery Café live music coffeehouse events, 12-step and other fellowships & support groups, on and offsite wellbeing retreats, and low cost funerals. We are in relationship with nearby accredited recovery houses and dozens of grassroots and other small nonprofits who also do vital, impactful work in Frankford, Kensington, and beyond in support of those suffering from SUD. In addition, our parish is a host site for for the Pets for Life program pet clinic in collaboration with PSPCA and Providence Animal Center, offering free veterinary care to pet owners from the most underserved communities. Our leadership and outreach team includes those with first-person lived experience with SUD who are uniquely qualified to lend a compassionate ear and encouragement along the recovery journey. Ours is a place of welcome, of being, of becoming, and of caring for neighbor & community. Everything we do, everything we are is based on the love and compassion that our volunteers, staff, and service partners extend to each person they encounter.
