Through this grant opportunity we will add incentives for parent and youth leadership activities and expand our trauma-informed mental health programming. In addition to weekly programming, we will work with young people on monthly special events that focus on community action, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
Kensington Neighbors United Civic Association is applying for the $10K KCR grant award to help expand its KEYS Program to serve an additional 25 young people and their families in the Kensington neighborhood. We will target youth of color, between the ages of six and sixteen, and will provide weekly programming that includes educational assistance in reading and math, anti-bullying workshops, violence and drug prevention, cultural awareness training, and trauma-informed stress management skill development. Through this grant opportunity we will add incentives for parent and youth leadership activities and expand our trauma-informed mental health programming. In addition to weekly programming, we will work with young people on monthly special events that focus on community action, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
Grant funds will be used for leadership stipends, program supplies, food and refreshments, entertainment for special events, and administrative costs like printing and utilities.
