Danny's House

Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund

Danny’s House is a non-profit recovery house that helps women reclaim their lives after living in active addiction for years.

About

Danny’s House is a non-profit recovery house that helps women reclaim their lives after living in active addiction for years. It was established by the family of Daniel Paulus who died of an opioid overdose in 2016 at age 25. Danny’s House is a unique recovery house because it provides four essential keys that support and empower residents to achieve long-term recovery:

  • Subsidizing rent so that residents can gain financial stability as they return to the workforce and save 50% of their income. This savings enables residents to afford safe housing upon their departure.
  • Providing a Recovery Coach around-the-clock to guide residents and impart the tools needed to handle life’s many day-to-day stressors without resorting to drugs to cope.
  • Providing wrap-around Case Management services to assist residents in navigating and connecting to available healthcare, housing, and legal resources.
  • Offering Educational programming that equips residents with the life skills necessary to maintain their mental wellbeing and financial health.

The Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund Award enables the continuation of these critical and essential support services that assist women caught up in the opioid epidemic to rebuild their lives and become contributing citizens. The Prevention Fund award will also strengthen the sustainability of Danny’s House, a 501c3 non-profit dependent on donations and grants for its survival, by improving its grant writing and fund raising capabilities.
