Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

Comunidades Conectadas is a unique series of community gatherings that fosters innovative dialogue amongst intergenerational community members and is built on accessibility, freedom of expression, and healing.
Power Street Theatre’s ultimate goal is to create art for social change, and that starts with us. From the communities we work with to the shows and programming we make, everything we do works toward our larger mission of fundamental social change through art. We seek to empower our community members, who are often overlooked and undervalued.
We are requesting funding to support our ongoing program, Comunidades Conectadas: our community discussions around themes like mental health, social justice, and empowerment. This program is a unique series of community gatherings that fosters innovative dialogue amongst intergenerational community members and is built on accessibility, freedom of expression, and healing.
We want to remove the barriers that marginalized communities face. We want people to feel empowered to be leaders, tell their stories, and build meaningful relationships. When we give people the space for cathartic expression and the resources they need to heal, we empower them to advocate for themselves and others. That is at the heart of Power Street Theatre’s mission of art for social change.
