Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness
The Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness supports immigrant and refugee communities by investing in organizations that remove barriers and create opportunities for immigrant communities to live with dignity and joy.
Through its participatory grantmaking approach, the Community Fund reimagines traditional philanthropy by shifting decision-making power closer to immigrant and refugee communities. Rooted in equity, shared leadership, and trust-building, the Fund engages community members, leaders, and organizations with lived experience to shape funding priorities and guide investments that support culturally relevant, responsive, and impactful approaches to emotional wellbeing and community wellness.
In addition to providing funding, the Community Fund fosters collaboration and shared learning among immigrant-serving organizations through a Community of Practice that strengthens relationships, builds capacity, and supports long-term community wellbeing.
Since 2017, the Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness has distributed more than $2.5 million to 37 organizations across Southeastern Pennsylvania and engaged more than 45 community grantmakers in participatory funding decisions.
“Too often, funders create their priorities after an internal process that might not include any representation from those they aim to support. The Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness has highlighted the importance of funding being driven by real needs in the community.”
