to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.

By Faith, Health and Healing aims to use trauma-informed programs to build resiliency and help Kensington families thrive. Through this grant, we look to expand and support our three foundational programs.
Mothers Helping Mothers: Women of Power is a biweekly comprehensive program designed to support mothers experiencing grief and stress associated with various types of loss. It targets up to 25 women per cohort and utilizes a peer-led support group framework with arts-based healing workshops, specialized training, fields trips, and trauma-informed skill development. Participants are supported by experts including community-based certified peer mentors in building a supportive community and developing skillsets to process grief, accept themselves, and move forward to the future.
Men of Power follows a similar model but focuses specifically on the impacts of community trauma and inequity on men of color. This program has been facilitated weekly out of the Community Center at Visitation but is expanding to include Veteran facilities managed by Impact Services.
The Village That Heals targets young people ranging from 5 to 24 years old through a 10-week summer camp. It includes weekly arts-based workshops, sports and play, physical fitness sessions, beautification projects, and workshops on trauma-informed practices. By Faith, Health and Healing will work with a local Kensington contractor to provide skill-building for young people to build benches for McPherson Square Library.
