The promoter program at Centro de Apoyo Comunitario equips community leaders to support new immigrants to navigate American systems.
The promoter program at Centro de Apoyo Comunitario equips community leaders with enhanced skills in assessment, community navigation, and referrals, while also providing the necessary support to manage the intricate task of assisting new immigrants. Leveraging local community leaders, Centro’s program is adept at identifying issues promptly and intervening swiftly to deliver culturally pertinent services. Two decades of community service have taught Centro that support is often more appreciated than charity. Their promoters extend support with respect, aiming to replace some of the natural support lost when individuals leave their homeland. This approach has established Centro de Apoyo as a respected resource for the community in Upper Darby and its neighboring regions. Through this valuable support from the Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness, Centro will be able to grow the programming to assist more families while increasing the program and reflecting the diversity of the Latin American community in the area.
