We fund organizations and projects which disrupt our current behavioral health space and create impact at the individual, organizational, and societal levels.
Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

Funding is primarily requested to increase the availability of peer support to re-entering individuals in Philadelphia from local jails and prisons who have a history of substance use concerns and are at high risk of ongoing substance use and overdose events.
Funding will expand the available services as part of our existing re-entry & employment support services program, primarily designed to help BIPOC individuals who are returning from incarceration or have a past substance use concern, gain the skills, resources, and support to empower themselves through holistic re-entry planning and gainful employment obtainment. The Unity employment program has been in operation for the last 4 years and has worked to support all individuals who are unemployed and underemployed gain employment at a network of recovery friendly businesses throughout Philadelphia. Additionally, Unity’s re-entry peer support program delivered in combination with our employment program (through the UEC) has been in operation for nearly a year and has had short-term success in our pilot and is ready for capacity expansion in this second cycle of the Prevention Fund.
