Virtua Health Foundation

Virtua Health was funded to pilot a Mega Site Mental Health Awareness Project designed to make the COVID-19 vaccination experience more accessible and supportive for individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, behavioral health challenges, or other sensory and special needs. Funding supported the creation of a virtual walkthrough to reduce pre-vaccination anxiety, behavioral health training for Mega Site volunteers, and a sensory-friendly, low-stimulation space equipped with calming tools. Virtua also connected vaccine recipients with community mental health resources during the required post-vaccination observation period. Together, these efforts helped create a safer, more welcoming, and trauma-informed vaccination experience from appointment preparation through completion.
