Sanctuary Village was funded to develop Philadelphia’s first tiny-home community for people experiencing chronic street homelessness. Using a Housing First approach, the initial village will provide 12 residents with private, secure, climate-controlled homes; shared facilities and community spaces; and access to case management, transportation, food, behavioral health and substance use treatment, and workforce training. The initiative aims to preserve residents’ dignity, support healing and community connection, and help them transition successfully into stable, permanent housing.
