We fund organizations and projects which disrupt our current behavioral health space and create impact at the individual, organizational, and societal levels.
Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

Philadelphia Community Land Trust's project is committed to creating safe, stable and sustainable housing for low and no income residents in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Community Land Trust’s project is committed to creating safe, stable and sustainable housing for low and no income residents in Philadelphia. Many of our members have experiences with the health system generally, mental health and drug treatment systems, the family regulation system and incarceration. We intend to provide a space for independence and autonomy and continued self-advocacy for one’s Right to the City.
The funds will contribute to our community and support meetings and capacity building for our organization as well as funding work by land trust and community members to complete the actual work on houses. Community and support meetings will be a source of social support and also sharing of resources and knowledge, including training and employment opportunities. Additionally at meetings, we offer political education on topics relevant to the housing and land justice movements. We will use some of the funding to redevelop previously vacant properties transferred from the Philadelphia Housing Authority. We also have different committees that people can be on to support the growth of the land trust, like the tenant selection committee or the committee to support a garden memorial for our founder, Jen Bennetch.
We believe that by supporting autonomy and self-advocacy, our organization hopes to build a culture of accountability to each other and to the movement to create more housing opportunities for all.
