We fund organizations and projects which disrupt our current behavioral health space and create impact at the individual, organizational, and societal levels.
Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

For the past 10 years, RAWtools been transforming donated guns into garden tools, art, and other life-giving things. But transforming guns is just part of our work. We are committed to the wholistic healing of our community here in Kensington -- the healing of hearts, the healing of streets, and the healing of our world.
Our name comes from flipping “WAR” around — and that’s what we do. For the past 10 years, RAWtools been transforming donated guns into garden tools, art, and other life-giving things. But transforming guns is just part of our work. Over the years we have come to view gun violence, and the opioid crisis, as an outward manifestation of a deeper sickness. While responding to the immediate needs with compassion and solidarity, we are also committed to addressing the deeper systemic issues of disinvestment, lack of economic opportunities, and inequities that exist when it comes to access to healthcare, housing, education and other critical needs. We are committed to the wholistic healing of our community here in Kensington — the healing of hearts, the healing of streets, and the healing of our world. A grant from the Prevention Fund will support our work to continue this work of healing and help us transform trauma into change. As we like to say, “We are building a neighborhood that we are proud to call ‘HOME.'” We are proud to do it together with you.
