Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

The mission of CADEkids is to promote children’s potential for growth through comprehensive, school and community-based, youth development and support programs that are begun at an early age and are designed to encourage positive choices, while reducing high-risk behaviors.
The mission of CADEkids is to promote children’s potential for growth through comprehensive, school and community-based, youth development and support programs that are begun at an early age and are designed to encourage positive choices, while reducing high-risk behaviors. This primarily entails providing violence, substance abuse, and problem gambling prevention education and support services for students in Philadelphia schools during the school day. The Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Capacity Building grant will enable CADEkids to expand its programming into out-of-school time and build our staff’s skills as trauma-informed youth development professionals. CADEkids’ prevention specialists will facilitate a 2-week free summer day camp that focuses on building student’s social and emotional resiliency skills. In the fall of 2024 and spring of 2023, Prevention Specialists will also facilitate after-school programming using evidence-based violence and substance mis-use prevention curricula. Beginning in the Fall of 2024, Prevention Specialists will have additional opportunities to engage in training on trauma-informed practices for working with youth. CADEkids is honored to be chosen for this grant and we look forward to expanding our collaborations with community organizations and families.
