Our participatory funds alter traditional grantmaking by shifting power
to impacted communities to direct resources and make funding decisions.
We build public and private partnerships to administer grant dollars toward targeted programs.
We provide funds at below-market interest rates that can be particularly useful to start, grow, or sustain a program, or when results cannot be achieved with grant dollars alone.

The Policy Meets Practice grant will support Why Not Prosper’s Women Owning their Wellness Program (WOW). This program consists of both advocacy work and targeted mental wellness programming.
The advocacy program aims to break down structural racism and help women access benefits in a timely way. This includes assessing health data, assessing needs through stories, targeting elected officials with data and stories, creating Sister Circles for people with mental health issues to support them in achieving and maintaining mental wellness.
Targeted mental wellness programming is also provided for women who are combating mental health issues. This includes daily meditations, weekly group counseling sessions, weekly individual therapy sessions, and art healing sessions. WOW gives women the tools and resources to support their mental health.
