Finding the Light Within

Mural Arts has partnered with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to combat the tragic social phenomenon of suicide. Led by muralist James Burns, Finding the Light Within seeks to create a supportive community of survivors, attempters, and their families and friends.Join us to dedicate this powerful mural project with the artists, the community that participated in numerous paint days throughout the year, and civic leaders.


The Color of Your Voice

Join us to dedicate The Color of Your Voice mural, which represents a partnership between Mural Arts, Project HOME, the Hank Gathers Recreation Center, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services. The dedication is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the creativity and effort put forth by Porch Light program participants, artists Ernel Martinez, Keir Johnston, and Nina "Lyraspect" Ball, and the community at and around Project HOME and the Hank Gathers Recreation Center who supported the work. The mural at APM is a part of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program's Porch Light Initiative - an initiative striving to improve the health of individuals and communities through human connection and art.


Our Vision, Our Testament

Join us to dedicate the Our Vision, Our Testament mural, which represents a partnership between Mural Arts, S.T.O.P. (Sobreity Through OutPatient, Inc.), and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services. The dedication will be an opportunity to honor and celebrate the creativity and effort put forth by Porch Light program participants, artist James Burns, and the community at and around S.T.O.P. who supported the work.The mural is a part of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program's Porch Light Initiative - an initiative striving to improve the health of individuals and communities through human connection and art.

Join us for a mural dedication at APM (Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha / Association of Puerto Ricans on the March. The mural, entitled It has to be from here, forgotten but unshaken... represents a partnership between Mural Arts, APM, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services. The dedication will be an opportunity to honor and celebrate the creativity and effort put forth by Porch Light program participants, artist Betsy Casañas, and the community at and around APM who supported the work. We will have a small speaking component and other festivities to compliment the event. The mural is a part of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program's Porch Light Initiative - an initiative striving to improve the health of individuals and communities through human connection and art.
